The Museum Association of New York Announces Partnership with Mysteries at the Museum Host Don Wildman on Artifact|NY Social Media Campaign
Troy—The Museum Association of New York (MANY), New York’s only statewide membership association representing museums, historical societies, zoos, botanical gardens, and aquariums, has announced an exciting partnership with Mysteries at the Museum host Don Wildman on a social media campaign to promote unique and interesting objects in New York museums’ permanent collections. Artifact|NY is a campaign of regularly posted photographic images of fascinating artifacts from New York museums accompanied by short blurbs about the artifacts as well as links to museum websites and announcements of upcoming exhibitions. The project is created by Don Wildman’s Archivist Media in NYC and sponsored by MANY.
“As a New Yorker, it is my pleasure to work with MANY and the hundreds of world-class institutions it advocates for around the State,” said Don Wildman. “New York is a leader in the museum field—with Artifact|NY we encourage people everywhere to come see why.” “We are extremely fortunate and excited to be working with Don on Artifact|NY,” said MANY Executive Director Devin Lander. “Artifact|NY is an interesting and fun way to promote the amazing artifacts held my New York museums of all sizes and in every corner of the state. It is truly these objects held in permanent collections that highlight the unique and essential role museums play as the repositories of our shared culture.”
Museums continue to be major tourist attractions across the state, all the while fulfilling their missions as educational institutions. Artifact|NY seeks to complement the promotional activities already being undertaken by the State’s I Love New York campaign.
“We are proud to support the Museum Association of New York and its efforts to increase awareness and visitation of the state’s museums," said Empire State Development Executive Director of Tourism, I Love New York Gavin Landry. "From the National Museum of Racing and the Corning Museum of Glass, to the National Toy Hall of Fame at The Strong – we encourage everyone to experience the art, culture and history found throughout the state.”
