    The Collections Curator and Registrar curates and stewards the permanent collection. Works to ensure proper collection management, manages the registrarial duties for the collection and temporary exhibitions, and supports academic or scholarly access to the permanent collection.     Qualifications

    MA in Museum Studies, Art History, or related field with 7+ years of both collection and registrarial experience in a museum setting, preferably academic. Demonstrated history of working with a broad collection of artwork spanning a variety of mediums, eras, and cultures. Prior courier experience expected.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Dedicated individual with a pleasant demeanor and positive attitude.
    • Understands and adheres to the standards prescribed by the American Alliance of Museums, including the collections policies and the code of ethics, as well as accepted good practices.
    • Strong knowledge of contemporary art, the artworld, art market, and  trends in the field.
    • Proficiency with The Museum System (TMS) collections management database.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Strong organizational, planning, and research skills.
    • Detail-oriented, meticulous, and conscientious in following through on assigned tasks.
    • Proficiency with computers in standardized word processing, and spreadsheet programs.
    • Ability to work independently, exercise initiative and good judgment to successfully organize and complete assignments.
    • Ability to collaborate and work as part of a small team.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and visitors.
    • Commitment to being an active participant in the Hamilton College community by attending events, forging relationships with faculty as well as caretakers of collections elsewhere on campus.
    • Commitment to learning and growing in the field.
    • Ability to travel, work evenings and/or weekends as necessary in the performance of assigned responsibilities.
