    Description
    The Assistant Curator of Exhibitions and Academic Outreach curates original exhibitions, acts as coordinating curator for all exhibitions hosted at the museum, and serves as the primary point person for Hamilton College faculty engaging with exhibitions. This position oversees all phases of the planning and implementation of exhibitions and expands academic engagement through building and sustaining relationships and organizing programming to support this effort.     Qualifications
    M.A. in art history, museum or curatorial studies. 5 years curatorial experience in a museum setting, preferably academic, with both research and writing responsibilities.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Experience curating original exhibitions and coordinating exhibitions curated by others.
    • Dedicated individual with a pleasant demeanor and positive attitude.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Strong organizational, planning, and research skills.
    • Detail-oriented, meticulous, and conscientious in following through on assigned tasks.
    • Proficiency with computers in standardized word processing, spreadsheet programs, and basic knowledge of graphic and web design programs.
    • Proficiency with technical equipment, such as A/V systems.
    • Ability to work independently, exercise initiative and good judgment to successfully organize and complete assignments.
    • Ability to collaborate and work as part of a small team.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, visitors, and community members.
    • Strong knowledge of contemporary art, the artworld, art market, and trends in the field.
    • Prior courier experience preferred.
    • Willingness to learn and grow in the field.
    • Ability to travel, work evenings and/or weekends as necessary in the performance of assigned responsibilities.
